We have many plans and without you we would not be able to implement them. We divide them into urgent, medium-term and long-term. You will most often hear about the urgent ones through our social media or regular newsletter. The medium-term ones focus on improving the running of our programmes in Kenya, such as improving the children's diet or organising educational workshops at the community centre. Our long-term future plans are two projects in particular: the construction of a secondary school to build on top of the primary school already built and the construction of a tailor shop. If you are interested in our work and would like to support it, please consider the following options:
1) Donate to the transparent account
You can contribute any amount to our transparent account. The account number is 2501302196 / 2010. Every penny counts and we are deeply grateful for any amount. If you need a donation receipt issued for tax purposes, let us know, we will be happy to provide.
2) Join the Friends of Rael Club
If you would like to help us on a regular basis, please join the Friends of Rael club. Your regular contributions will simplify future planning and make the day-to-day running of our programs much easier. For example, with stable funding, we can ensure that fruit is regularly purchased from local farmers to improve the children's diets. In addition, by joining the club you will receive several benefits. Read more HERE.
3) Help us with the production of gift items
We regularly hold lectures not only about adventure travel to Africa, but also about the project and volunteering itself. Not only at these events, but also on our e-shop, gift items with the Rael logo are then available for purchase. One hundred percent of the proceeds from sales go to the project. Do you have the opportunity to print us t-shirts with the logo, badges, flyers, pens, fan items for the Unga United team or other small items? Let us know!
4) Spread the word about Project Rael
Do you know of a company that would like to donate to a good cause, but doesn't know which one? Do you have friends who could help? Share our site, spread awareness about Project Rael, and do your part to help us thrive in Kenya. Your support is crucial for us.
5) Become a sponsor of a specific child
As Project Rael grows, so does the number of orphans and children from the poorest families who cannot afford to study. We now have more than 80 children in the program and more are being added as time goes on. Distance adoption is all about financially supporting a particular child on his or her educational journey. Without a good education, the child has no chance of getting a job and living a full life as an adult. Read more HERE.
6) Become a patron of an educational workshop
We would like to start special workshops for widowed women to help participants overcome a difficult life situation. The cost of a one-time one-day workshop is 1000 crowns. However, it would be ideal if more of them could be held, ideally perhaps with some regularity, as is the case with the sex education workshops we already run. The community centre can accommodate up to 40 participants. We will use the patron's donation to buy light refreshments for them and pay for professional trainers.
7) Donate English books
Our library is now about half full, so it is clear what the main goal is - to have it full. We are looking for any type of book, for children and adults, educational books and fiction. But they must be completely in English. Of course, we also appreciate financial contributions to purchase Swahili books in Kenya. In the case of such a donation, please indicate this designation in the payment note. We will then send you a photo of exactly what we have purchased for the library with your donation.
8) Go to Kenya to help in person
You can also help by going directly to Kenya to work as a volunteer. We are looking for volunteers for the community centre, football club, school and nursery. Please contact us for more information.
9) Visit our e-shop
There is no e-shop like our e-shop. It's very special because you can buy specific gifts that will have a specific impact in Kenya. An example would be a $4 meal voucher that buys lunch at a community café for the poorest seniors in our rural area. You can also buy a chicken, a sleeping kit for a widow or dental treatment for a child. In addition to these items, there are also products under the Rael brand in the e-shop, be it our own coffee, T-shirts or pancakes. You can also purchase African jewellery, with the proceeds from the sales again going solely to the running of the project.
10) Become part of Team Rael
Last but not least, you can also get involved by joining the project's closest leadership – Team Rael. We are currently looking for someone to focus on fundraising, i.e. intensive fundraising for the project, within their time constraints. Unfortunately, money comes first in our project. You will play an absolutely key role in the team. You will be contacting companies and individuals, looking for new partners, applying for grants. The success of the whole project, especially its future expansion and improvement, will depend on your work. The benefit of the good feeling and smiles of Kenyan children will not pass you by!
